Garry’s career in the financial services industry has spanned over 30 years, gaining experience within the banking, investment and pension arenas, working with larger corporates and the SME markets. Garry has held positions at Standard Life and Legal and General, working with Financial Advisers throughout his career. Garry’s experience spans Business Development, Sales Management and Training and Development.
His valuable knowledge and experience has given rise to the “OPTESS” proposition, understanding the benefits of offering external support to business
Through a career ranging from customer service to sales and account management within the Pensions sector, as well as the achievement of the Pensions Management Institute’s Certificate in Automatic Enrolment, Duncan has developed a very thorough knowledge of this subject.
Duncan’s day-to-day duties include the supervision of both the Business Services and Employer Support Teams, as well as working with employers to assist with and better their awareness of their responsibilities. Duncan is well aware of the needs many employers face across the UK and uses his experience, knowledge and expertise to over come these.
Samantha Kew joined OPT in November 2018, and became head of the employer support department.
In this role, she deals with phone calls and emails from employers who require assistance with the Root website, or who have questions relating to auto enrolment enquiries. She also undertakes tasks to help employers such as running of assessments and completing Re-Declarations of Compliance.
Prior to joining OPT Samantha had previous roles within the travel industry, sales and also events planning. All ensuring she has the ability to build a great rapport with employers and has acquired excellent communication skills.
In her personal time, she is mainly found running after her two children, however she is also halfway through completing a law degree.

As you know, we’ve been supporting you with your auto-enrolment for some time. But we wanted to go further. We’ve been hearing about your needs. After all, to talk about one employer responsibility is to talk about all of them and since we made ‘Supporting Employers’ our goal, we knew we needed to do more.

Now don’t worry, we’ll still be continuing with all our auto-enrolment support. Auto-enrolment is, and will always be, a key part of what we do (we hope you saw our recent communication about the updates we’re currently making to Root). In addition to this, we will be providing you with a raft of new services, all designed to help you with the ongoing running of your business. These services are designed around your feedback, everything you’ve told us about the frustrations of being an employer in the UK. Over the next few months, we’ll be updating you on our new services, so stay tuned for more news.
